"Life sucks when your friends are pissed at you. Just ask Zoey Redbird – she’s become an expert on suckiness. In one week she has gone from having three boyfriends to having none, and from having a close group of friends who trusted and supported her, to being an outcast. Speaking of friends, of the two Zoey has left, one is undead and one is unMarked. And Neferet has declared war on humans, which Zoey knows in her heart is wrong. But will anyone listen to her? Zoey's adventures at vampyre finishing school take a wld and dangerous turn as loyalties are tested, shocking true intentions come to light, and an ancient evil is awakened."

I can honestly say that even though the series has good plots and drama, I am getting sick and tired or the repetitiveness of this series. *Sigh* I don't know....maybe I am reading too much into this, but this book is just as the same as the others. All of Zoey friends are upset at her and now she is trying to set things right with them. And of course she is still confused over all the guys she made out with. Erik is totally giving her the cold shoulder and you know what? She deserves it. I do not feel sorry for her in the least. She seriously needs to get her act together and make some good decisions without her hurting her friends, who were there for her.

At the beginning of the series, Zoey was untouched. By that I mean, she still had her innocence. Let me clarify some more. Zoey was not mean, anger or bitter. She was polite, kind, and did not curse. Now by this book, Zoey is not the same Zoey. While I understand her character grew some, her character grew into someone I do not like. Zoey goes around always frustrated, angry, calling people names, etc. I just don't see Zoey being that way. I would like to see  Zoey come into her destiny without all that hurt and pain she is carrying.

This book still contain sex, drugs, foul language and was a bit darker than before. I do not recommend this book for any young reader.

I  give it 3 BITES!

Happy Reading!

  1. No, you're totally right, the series is mind-numbingly repetitive. I have no idea what it is with these authors' obsession with Zoey having three boyfriends at any given moment, or why the continue using the same scenes over and over again. I'm just now in the middle of Hunted, but I have serious complaints about this series as a whole.

I don't mind the stuff Zoey has been through, because I think it's stuff that a lot of teenagers go through, i.e. making bad decisions about sex/boyfriends/friends, etc, but Zoey just doesn't seem to learn from her mistakes, and it's very frustrating.

As to the sex & etc, I don't really see how it's out of the norm for YA. YA books, maybe, but teenagers know more about sex and swearing than these characters seem to. In fact, one of my complaints about the series is that it's a bit more juvenile in attitude and content than its audience, lol.

Anyway, good review. Like seeing someone who actually talks about a book's faults a bit.
