Jill Jekal is faced with tragedy. Jill's father is murdered brutally leaving Jill with a lot of unanswered questions. With her father's untimely death, Jill found out that her father had stolen her college fund money, leaving her with nothing. Her mother is forced to work all hours of the day to try to make up for what was lost. The murder takes a deep toll on Jill's mother. Her mother is constantly fighting her own demons not to break down. At her fathers funeral, she took comfort in Tristian Hyde. It was a comfort and the beginning of a relationship she never thought would happen.

Even after the police were unable to solve her father's murder, Jill finds out what was really going on. Since her college fund is gone, Jill decides to take on a chemistry scholarship. Her teacher suggest she work with Tristian Hyde. Jill decides to do the classic Jekel and Hyde by recreating the experiment. Jill and Tristian are in for the ride of their lives. Jill's goes into her father secret box reading the paper it contains inside. She finds that the papers are really old and are the real equations for the real Jekel and Hyde experiment. During the process of meeting in secret, Jill is falling for Tristian Hyde.

Things are always what they seems. Tristian start having weird dreams, though they do not seem like dreams after all. A monster starts to build in Tristian, a monster to kill. Can Jill fix the experiment that failed so long ago?

I enjoyed reading this book. It was not the same as Jessica Guide to Dating on the Dark Side. I felt there was something missing in it. The book was well written and had a good plot. I wish there was some more dialogue between Jill and Tristian falling for each other. I would have like to seen Jill and Tristian getting to know each other more than having to spend time with each based on a curse Jill's family out on Tristian's.
