Blog Tour/ Giveaway: Haven- The Winterhaven Psychics

My name is Dr. Augustus Blackwell, and I am the Headmaster here at the Winterhaven School.

It is my greatest pleasure to welcome each and every one of you to Winterhaven. Here we hope to provide not just an excellent academic education, but also a safe haven for nurturing your unique gifts and talents.
Though our curriculum is entirely academic, comprising an exemplary college preparatory experience, we also provide excellent mentoring and psychic coaching opportunities. If you’re in need of any help developing or controlling your specific gift, just let us know and we will make the proper arrangements.

I hope you will find our full range of academics to be stimulating, with offerings you won’t necessarily find at other secondary schools, such as Folklore and Legends, Culture and Society in 19th Century Britain, and Advanced Bio-Ethics. We also offer a full range of extracurricular activities, from football, basketball, and fencing to music, art, theater, and dance. I have no doubt that we have an activity here to suit everyone’s interests and needs.

Gifts and talents, as we call them here at Winterhaven, vary from student to student, but I would like you all to familiarize yourself with the full range represented here.

One of the most common gifts is Telekinesis, or the ability to move objects with one’s mind. There are two types of telekinetics here at Winterhaven, the more common macro type—the ability to move large objects, objects that are visible to the naked eye—and the micro type—the ability to move smaller things like atoms and molecules, things you need a microscope to see.

There are also students who possess Telepathy, the transfer of information between individuals by means other than the five classic senses. Often, this is a one-sided experience, meaning that the telepath can read the minds of others, who are usually unaware.

Another gift found here at Winterhaven is Clairsentience, a form of extra-sensory perception wherein a person acquires psychic knowledge primarily by feeling. You will find that some clairsentients here choose to wear gloves in order to protect themselves from sensory overload as they go about their daily business. I ask that you please respect this choice.

There are many students who possess other forms of Extra-sensory Perception, or ESP, including Clairaudience (wherein a person acquires information by paranormal auditory means), Claircognizance (wherein a person acquires psychic knowledge primarily by means of intrinsic knowledge--the ability to know something without a physical explanation). Some individuals with claircognizance prefer to be called Mediums, or Clairvoyants.

The gift of Precognition refers to perception that involves the acquisition of future information that cannot be deduced from presently available and normally acquired sense-based information or laws of physics and/or nature. Such knowledge of the future can come in the form of dreams, visions, flashes, or other types of “awake” experiences.

Some Winterhaven students are what we call Empaths, meaning that they have the ability to sense the emotions of others, no matter how physically near or far away the individuals may be. In some cases, an empath can also control the emotions of others, projecting their own emotional state onto another individual’s.

A few Winterhaven students are able to do Astral Projection, where their astral body can separate from their physical body and travel at will within the astral plane. This can be either voluntary, or involuntary.
Of course, there are other, more unique gifts represented here at Winterhaven, though the ones I’ve just mentioned represent the majority of our student body. Please note that each student has been given a copy of the COPA, or Code of Paranormal Activity, which guides the proper use of your talents while a Winterhaven student—both on-campus and off. It goes without saying that talents are not to be used for personal gain, or to cause harm to others. If any student is caught breaking these rules, there are serious consequences, including expulsion, which you will find outlined in the COPA.

In closing, Winterhaven is a special place for very special students—like you. It is meant to serve as a haven, a place where you can be yourself, where you can realize your full potential, both academically and psychically, in a safe, nurturing environment. We’re glad that you found us, and we welcome you to the Winterhaven family.
