"Teens who discover they were secretly genetically altered before birth are brought together at a classified site where they forge new friendships, find love, develop "super-abilities," and even unearth a conspiracy."

This book is totally AWESOME!  Ms. Workinger storyline of this book grabbed me from the start and I fell in love.

Many years ago, a rogue army doctor conducted experiment unknowingly on pregnant women. The government having got wind of this story gathers all 100 children that were affected by this doctor. They are unsure what exactly what has been altered in them. Clio and her friends make startling discoveries as there powers began to unleash themselves.

What a read! I mean a really good read. I love Clio and her band of friends. Clio is super smart and knows right from the start something is wrong. She also has the type of personality who just goes off and looks for answers. I love reading her adventurous plots to find out what they really know.

The love interest in the book was wonderful. Ms. Workinger made the love connection real and she build is up really well. I love seeing the characters fall in love right before my eyes and I loved reading their feelings. Along with the powers they are discovering, they all lean into each other helping out one another.

The plot twist of this book is startling. I am big fan of letting the cart out of the bag, so to find out along with Clio was fun and saddening at the same time. But I totally love it.

If you like Kelley Armstrong series the Darkest Powers, you will love this book. This book is similar to it and Ms. Workinger write like her too. It had great detailing of the characters. Ms. Workinger really made the characters come to life. The characters shown their emotions. Plus the plot just builds up really good until it explodes in your face. Totally wicked!

I give it 5 BITES!

Happy Reading!

  4. This one does sound good! I like that the romance is built up and not instant, I'm a big fan of romantic tension in books:) I haven't read the Darkest Powers series, but I'm a big fan of Kelley Armstrong so if this book reminded you of her work, I think I'll give it a try!

  12. This one sounds like a really freaky concept. Glad it was done well. I especially like books with well-played-out love stories. They're so rare.
