"Cris Pereira hates starring in a cautionary tale. Alas, her recent heartbreak relegates her to this unbecoming fate. The only good thing about being dumped a foot from the altar is the newest layer to her punchy sarcasm. All she wants is a do-over, but this is not your average fairy tale, and wishes don't come true in the real world. One Sunday afternoon, she meets a movie star. Tom Abramson is intelligent, charming, and impetuous. In other words, he plays the role a bit too well. She isn’t falling for it. She knows better. All British men are not descendants of Fitzwilliam Darcy, and movie stars are genetic mutations gone awry: X-Men with statistical disadvantages and emotional handicaps. Keep your knight in shining armor. A modern girl can rescue herself, thank you very much. After all, dreams are for the foolhardy, nightmares are just a part of life, and . . . this is not your average fairy tale."
I can simply say that I love this book! I really and quickly fell into the story and did not want to leave. Now this is not a YA book. It is being marketed that way but it is for a more older YA audience.

What did I like about this book? Everything! First off the plot. Let me tell you I LOVE it. I really love seeing broken hearts coming together. The plot is dynamic in bringing in everything slowly together that the reader is hooked no matter what they do. I know I was hooked from page one and loved reading every moment of Cris and Tom.

Cris, the main character and is struggling within herself. She is hurt and doesn't want a new relationship. I loved that she fought against herself. The reader sees Cris slowly fall for the Hollywood hottie and she begins to let herself have fun for once. No planning, no worries, just plain ol' good fun. I loved to see Cris smile and be free. Tom is such a great guy that I would fall in love with him. I mean, why not? Tom is a type of guy who doesn't pressure her but let things happen as they may. He waited for Cris to come around and eventually she did.

I also very much enjoyed the drama in this book. It is not fake drama, but real things that people face everyday. FEAR. Fear of getting hurt, of saying yes, of just putting yourself out here and getting rejected. I loved that fear played such a big role in this book cause that what people are afraid of in relationships. The reader see the flaws in the characters and their raw feelings.

I love that Ms. Ahdeih is able to catch such feelings and really portray them in the book. Her writing  is simply wonderful and easy for the reader to fall into. Fanfare is an amazing book about finding love again when you least expect it. And once you find it, you never want to let it go. If you love a great romance with kindred spirits looking for one another, read this book. I can guarantee it will not let you down.
*There was some curse words/ sex (implied)*

I give it 4 BITES!

Happy Reading!
