"At the beginning of the summer, Clio Kaid was one of a hundred teens brought to a secret Army installation. But it was no ordinary camp and they weren’t ordinary kids…

Soon after learning they were the products of a secret genetic experiment, the teens began developing super-abilities ranging from bounding lightness to blocking heaviness; blinding brilliance and the ability to vanish. These same gifts made them targets of a psychopath in officer’s clothing, and they found themselves fighting for their lives.

Picking up where “Solid” left off, Clio and her friends realize that they aren’t ready to go home; they’re determined to stay on campus and continue their journey of self- discovery. But someone doesn’t feel the same way and will do anything to drive them away – even kill.

Friendships will be tested, abilities will evolve, and more secrets will come out as the teens race to stop the killer before he sets his sights on one of them…"

Ever since I got the first book, I have been hooked. And this book had the hooked sink even deeper into my skin. I am still shocked with the ending, it just....WOW!

The story line of this book is slow at first. It picks off right where the first book left off and the reader is updated on all the things that has been going on around the camp. I enjoyed reading up on the characters and seeing their progression in their powers.  A lot of the characters had really changed while others remain the same. There were some new characters introduce that made this book so good to read.

The characters had a lot of growing up to do. Clio is one character that change but not in a good way. I am disappointed in some of  her decisions but then again she had a lot going on. Friendships in this book, loyalties in this book were tested, badly. As I sat and read this I think I gasped like a million times. There is so much going on with the characters, secrets and alliances being made behind each other backs that it made you wonder what is really going on.
Now for the ending. I have to admit that I like the ending of this book. I am not fond of a sad, bitter ending but it worked for this book. And if anything, the ending really reflected the state of the next book. Which of course makes me super, excited to read. If you have not picked up this series you should. This is one heck of a read that you will never forget! READ IT!

I give it 5 BITES!

Happy Reading!

  5. Sounds interesting. I love books when character grow a lot. I don't mind not liking a character's decision when I can understand why they did it...even if I didn't like it.
