Blog Tour: Wolfsbane

Blog Tour hosted by Mundie Moms

Interview with the wonderful author Andrea Cremer!!!

            Biography:
Andrea Cremer spent her childhood daydreaming while roaming the forests and lakeshores of Northern Wisconsin. She now lives in Minnesota, but she thinks of her homeland as the “Canadian Shield” rather than the Midwest.

Andrea has always loved writing and has never stopped writing, but she only recently plunged into the deep end of the pool that is professional writing. When she’s not writing, Andrea is a professor of history at Macalester College in St. Paul, Minnesota.”

In the little spare time she can find, Andrea stares up at trees, rescues infant rabbits from predatory cats, and invents names for pug puppies with her husband. She has an unfortunate tendency to spill things – white carpets beware!

1.  In anticipation for Wolfsbane, what do you think the readers reaction will be when they read it?

The readers who received early copies tell me they like it even more than Nightshade, which is the best compliment I could hope for. There are new characters in Wolfsbane that I can't wait for readers to meet - these characters are some of my favorites in the series.

2. What are your expectations for the book when you begin writing it?

I don't have expectations for a book - writing is like an adventure taken without a map (I don't outline). I'm not sure where I'll be going but I know it will be exciting!

3.  What are the most important elements that go into your book?

The world, the characters, and the plot. It's important to me to think about how many threads run between those three elements, weaving together to create the book. No one thing is more important than the other, each of those elements needs to be supported by the others.

4. What is one secret that you never told that inspired your write?

Sorry to be boring, but I don't have any secret inspirations. I'm very open about my passion for writing - it's something that's been with me since I was a little girl.

5. If you could have dinner with any character (s) from a book who would it be?

Cinna from Hunger Games. I wanted to know so much more about his life and history.

6. Do you travel much concerning any information that you write in your books?

Some. I just spent some time in New York with David Levithan that was specifically about connecting sites to the narrative of the book we're writing together. I'm very busy between writing and teaching so if I don't already know a place well and want to write about it I do research using Google Earth.

7. What books or authors have influenced your writing?

So many! To name just a few: Margaret Atwood, Marion Zimmer Bradley, Neil Gaiman, David Eddings, JK Rowling.

8. Have you ever hated something you wrote?

Hate is too strong a word, but I've definitely been unsatisfied with drafts or scenes. That's why revision is so important!

9. What book are you currently reading now?

Libba Bray's Beauty Queens. I love everything Libba writes!

10. 10. If you were stranded on a desert island with one other person, who would you hope that person would be and why?

My husband because I couldn't stand to be stranded without him. He's also a great problem solver and would probably figure out how to get us rescued.
I am a proud member of the Haldis Group!!

  11. The biography of any person can teach us something new about life. I started reading biography books after I found the top 9 of Yuri Mintskovsky.....about how to become a good businessman. I learned a lot of things so I continued to search for interesting biographies because I realized reading makes me understand so many things.
