"In search of a future that may not exist and faced with the decision of who to share it with, Cassia journeys to the Outer Provinces in pursuit of Ky - taken by the Society to his certain death - only to find that he has escaped, leaving a series of clues in his wake.

Cassia's quest leads her to question much of what she holds dear, even as she finds glimmers of a different life across the border. But as Cassia nears resolve and certainty about her future with Ky, an invitation for rebellion, an unexpected betrayal, and a surprise visit from Xander - who may hold the key to the uprising and, still, to Cassia's heart - change the game once again. Nothing is as expected on the edge of Society, where crosses and double crosses make the path more twisted than ever."

I have been anticipating this book like no other. As soon as I got it, I ripped it open and did not come out.
The book is filled with great writing, lots of plot twists, and characters that I missed and adored!

The plot line in this book is what got me hooked. There are so many new things going on in the society that I was biting my nails off! Many new things were added and characters turn out to be not what I expected. The pacing of the book is not too quick, but pretty fast. Once you start reading, the reader crosses into the world Ms. Condie has written. The way she described the society now and what has happen since then, really opened the readers eyes to a whole new world.

The element of surprise in this book has a  whole new definition that Ms. Condie created. I was taken back by some of the characters. To be quite honest, I was in shock. Some of the secrets in this book were beyond juicy. Though if you read the first book and think back on it, you can see how it made sense. I like how Ms. Condie created such a flowing mystery to the book that it keeps the reader detained,... unable to move till the very last page.

The love interest in this book is what was a big shocker to me. Many feelings were revealed, fought for, and explained. I never thought I could love a love triangle, but Ms. Condie made it work for this book. And let me tell you, those boys are not giving up.

Overall, Crossed is an accomplished sequel that I really enjoyed. Sometimes sequel repeat, or are just filler-ins, not this book. Crossed kept you engaged and enchanted by the society. Ms. Condie created such a striking sequel that I am hype up for the next book!

I give it 4 BITES!

Happy Reading!

  1. This sounds awesome. Great review. Thanks.
    New follower from FF hop:

  2. WOW! I'm surprised that the love triangle develops further because I thought Cassia had pretty much made her choice with Ky.

Not sure how I'm gonna feel about that. Eke.

  3. @Wendy, thanks for the follow :) Glad you liked the review!

  4. @Missie, I know me too! I am surprised!

  5. I did not read this review, simply because I don't want to know anything about it before I read it myself but I have ants in my pants waiting for this book. Matched was seriously one of the best books I have ever read, definitely the best dystopian novel. I just wanted to share how jealous I am that you have read it already and I did look at the rating and I skimmed the review and it seems like this book will not disappoint me. November needs to come quick!

  6. This is the first review I've read of this. I'm glad you liked it! I love how Ally's writing sucks you in. And I'm excited to see where the characters go.
