"Is life offering fewer and fewer options? Then join the dead.
When Annelise meets dark and seductive Ronan, he promises her a new life-if she has the courage to chance the unknown. Now, she's whisked away to a mysterious island and pitted against other female recruits to become a Watcher-girls who are partnered with vampires and assist them in their missions. To survive and become a Watcher, Annelise has to beat out every other girl, but she's determined to do so, because to fail doesn't mean dishonor-it means death."

For my birthday, I bought this book and I am glad that I finally got around to reading it. This book is much different than what I expected.

What I like most about this book is the great plot line. I like that it took some unexpected turns that I never saw coming. I curious as to what purpose staying on the island serves.

The characters of the book were not normal characters. They all come from harsh back rounds, with tough skin. Annelise back round is rough. While I am glad that she got away from that, it good to see that some good came from it. She strong, feisty and doesn't put up with anybody.

Overall this is quite a unique book. It really puts a whole new spin on vampires. I really liked how the vampires in this book aren't modern but old school. They truly act they way vampires should act.

Isle of Night is start of a series that has intrigued me. With a moving plot line, the reader is set on a path the vampires told us not to stray from. Isle of Night is a great read!

I give it 4 BITES!

Happy Reading!

  2. Oooh...a vampire series I haven't heard of. I like the idea of old school vampires. Actually, I like the idea of almost any kind of vampires.

  5. I just don't get tired of vampire stories, I have no idea why. They just always appeal to me! Love characters that come from rough pasts and then grow over the course of the series:)
