"When Wendy Geller's body is found in Central Park after the night of a rager, newspaper headlines scream,"Death in the Park: Party Girl Found Strangled." But shy Rain, once Wendy's best friend, knows there was more to Wendy than just "party girl." As she struggles to separate the friend she knew from the tangle of gossip and headlines, Rain becomes determined to discover the truth about the murder. Written in a voice at once immediate, riveting, and utterly convincing, Mariah Frederick's mystery brilliantly exposes the cracks in this exclusive New York City world and the teenagers that move within it."

This is another book that really blew me off my feet. I loved reading a story where you must follow clues, ask questions and really get down to the needy gridy of things.

What I loved most about this book is the story line. Here we have a young girl who has made quite a reputation for herself. Wendy is a party girl who knows what she wants and goes after it. (she sleeps around) She doesn't play games except to get what she wants. So when she is found dead, I am intrigued by who killed her. Plenty of people hated her. She slept with a lot of other girls boyfriends, sol I knew this murder is more than what it seemed. And I was right. Once you get into the gist of the story you are compelled to finish it to the end.

The best part of this book is the view from the "used to be" best friend. Rain got ditched by Wendy and I was happy that despite Wendy reputation, someone was there to solve her murder. Rain is not like other kids. She is shy and mostly keeps to herself. I loved her growth within each new chapter. Not only did she learn about Wendy's last whereabouts, but she learns so much about herself.

The best part about this story is the researching. Every time Rain was so close to a new clue, a new suspect, I was just itching to turn the next page. And once more clues follow up old clues but just became clear, I was screaming," I KNEW IT! I KNEW IT!" LOL!

The Girl In The Park is a dark tale of setting our for the truth. With drama that is compelling and clues lying for the reader to follow like bread crumbs, no one suspects who the real murderer is. Wholly satisfying, The Girl In The Park is beautifully executed.

I give it 5 BITES!

Happy Reading!
