Blog Tour: Sweet Evil: Interview with Wendy Higgins

"What if there were teens whose lives depended on being bad influences? This is life for sons and daughters of fallen angels in Sweet Evil.

Tenderhearted Southern girl, Anna Whitt, was born with the sixth sense to see and feel emotions of other people. She’s aware of a struggle within herself, an inexplicable pull toward danger, but it isn’t until she turns sixteen and meets the alluring Kaidan Rowe that she discovers her terrifying heritage, and her will-power is put to the test. He’s the boy your daddy warned you about. If only someone had warned Anna.

A cross-country trip to meet her father forces Anna to face the reality that hope and love are not options for her kind. When she confronts her destiny, will Anna embrace her halo or her horns?"

Which of your characters is your favorite?
I’m supposed to pick?? No can do. J Anna and Kai are my heart, both polar opposites, therefore both my favorites for entirely different reasons.

What inspired you to write your first book?
There wasn’t one single factor that inspired me. It was more like a lifetime of things finally coming together in the perfect moment to nurture that creativity--my personal experiences, people I’d met, books I’d read, mistakes I’d made, my spirituality, my dissatisfaction with life (feeling like I needed to be doing more). It was like it’d all been stirred and stirred together for years until the pot boiled over and there was this crazy explosion inside of me. I know that sounds dramatic, but believe me when I say IT WAS!

What was your favorite chapter to write and why?
I pretty much loved writing every interaction between Anna and Kai. The tension was so much fun. And when things got physical…yeah, those were serious writing moments for me. There could have been a hurricane outside and I wouldn’t have noticed, because I was so lost in the emotion of those scenes.

If you gave one of your characters an opportunity to speak for themselves (*COUGH*  Kaidan), what would they say?
I’m sexy and I know it.  (Sorry, that song is suck in my head! Lol)
Seriously though…Kaidan would not tell us much, even if given the opportunity to share openly. He’s not very good at the whole “revealing” thing. Kaidan carefully guards his true feelings, so when he opens his mouth what generally comes out are innuendos and comments thatmake us feel like someone’s turned up the heat in the building.

What books do you look forward to reading this summer?
Well, I already got my hands on one (Insurgent by Veronica Roth, yay!), but I also want to read The Golden Lily by Richelle Mead, Masque of the Red Death by Bethany Griffin, and Chasing Normal by Kelley Vitollo (again, since I had the privilege to beta-read this prior to pub).

Where to buy the book:

Happy Reading!
