Blog Tour: Concilium

"A tale of deadly creatures and forbidden romance...
Leslee hit a strange animal with her car. Now she’s marked for death.
It was a simple car accident – the animal didn’t even die – but it drew the attention of the Cruor Imbibo. Driven by their insatiable need to feed, the secret society of Imbibo has devoured the dregs of civilization for centuries. Afraid Leslee will expose them, and put an end to their meal ticket, the Imbibo want her dead.
The Concilium is Leslee's only protection. Guardian of the ancient secret and the protector of humans, the Concilium fights to control the Imbibo and end their feeding frenzy. Miller works for the Concilium. Keeping Leslee alive is his next assignment.
Now Leslee is on the run, and the only thing between her flesh and the snapping jaws of the Imbibo is Miller. He and Leslee quickly form a bond, but will falling in love make Miller’s job more difficult? Because if he fails, Leslee will be next on the Imbibo menu.
The Cruor Imbibo are coming, and they're coming for Leslee."

Where to buy the book:

Thank you, Savannah, for hosting me at Books with Bite today.  I'm very excited to be here.  You originally asked me to write a guest post on the history of the Concilium.  After many starts and stops with that topic it became evident that there were just too many spoilers to giveaway.  So I've weaved together a little bit of history of all the key players. It gives you just enough information to introduce you to them and their world, without giving away any of the major spoilers in the novel.  Before I start, however, I want to tell you that Concilium is a Latin word meaning "council."
Leslee has an incredible story to tell.  It’s a story full of monsters and mysterious creatures, of men with sinful pasts who become heroes, and one man who saves her life and steals her heart.
Her story begins the night she hit an animal with her car.  It’s the first time she sees the hideous beast and hears the whispers in the dark.  The accident sets in motion a chain of events that Leslee would find unbelievable if she hadn’t lived through them herself.  The events, the people she meets, and the monsters that hunt her change her life forever.
Miller looks into the face of death every day of his cursed, miserable life.  After killing two people, he thinks his life is nothing more than a waste of good air.  That is, until the Concilium offers him a job he can’t refuse.  A job to atone for his sins.
The Concilium is the guardian of an ancient secret and protector of our world.  Only, it’s not just our world.  The planet is made of layers, dimensions.  These dimensions live alongside our own in a space humans can’t see or hear.  They’re meant to live independently of one another.  But evil has found a way out.
Cruor Imbibo are vicious killing machines that have invaded our dimension for centuries.  Driven by their insatiable need to feed, the Imbibo devour humans, feasting secretly on the dregs of society.  After Leslee stumbles across the mysterious animal and hears the whispering in the forest, the Imbibo think Leslee can expose them, putting an end to their meal ticket. They want her dead and hunt her relentlessly, killing anyone who gets in their way.
The Concilium is the only protection humans have from the Imbibo’s blood lust. Teams formed by the Concilium fight the Imbibo, trying to put an end to their feeding frenzy and send them back to their dimension.  Miller’s the leader of one of the Concilium’s teams.  Keeping Leslee alive is his next job.
Miller and his team fight the Imbibo, giving the Concilium time to locate and kill the Imbibo clan’s leader.  In the midst of the war, he and Leslee fall into a relationship. But he warns Leslee when the job is finished he’ll leave.  His allegiance is to the Concilium.  His commitment to them is life-long.
After days of battling and searching, the team locates the clan’s leader.  Miller and the team make their plan and set their trap. This is what they’re trained for.  This is what they do and they do it well.

So, what happens to the Imbibo?  Does the Concilium find a way to control them?  Why did the men on the Concilium's team give up their lives and commit to a lifetime of slaying monsters?  Does Miller walk away from his position with the Concilium and stay with Leslee?

Well, you’ll have to read the book to find the answers to these questions.  You might be surprised.

Thanks so much for being here today!
