"When you're lost, sometimes the only place you can go is home.
Broken over the death of her fiancé, Molly leaves law school to return to her childhood home in North Carolina. Expecting to lay low until she can figure out what else to do with her life, she finds herself in the arms of her high school sweetheart, the boy who represents everything from the past she tried to leave behind.
Looking for an escape, she instead finds a way back to the girl she almost forgot existed and a future she never dreamed possible."

I chose to reaed this book being that I have recently read another book by this author and love it. Again, her writing is awesome, but I found myself at loss with this book.

First, I want to mention what bothered me so much. It was the love interest. Particularly the characters. The author created a great romance between the main character Molly and her two love interest. One being a past  love interest and new one. What bothered me is not the old love interest but the new one. Usually when you read a book, you can pretty much tell which love interest the character is leaning towards. In this book the line is blurred. It bothered me cause this is the first time I had a real problem figuring out which guy Molly was going to pick. Not mention that it seem all backward. Molly is having a fling with one guy but something serious with the next guy. I honestly thought she pick the serious one cause it seems more....grownup?? Know what I mean.

Other than that, the story is pretty good. It has a well thought out plot that keeps the reader entertained. It's filled with a great back round history on both characters giving the reader a goo insight on their thoughts and emotions.

Derailed is a great contemporary romance with a compelling story line. It has a great concept of finding love where it all began. And of course, learning to let go of the past. Derailed is an charming story.

I give it 4 BITES!

Happy Reading!

  2. Great review. I honestly never saw anything with the "other guy" I thought she made it clear to him that she didn't want anything but friendship and other people were trying to push them together. I do get what you are saying though. She should have just totally ignored him, knowing how persistent he was.

    1. YES! I guess cause she really didn't know what she wanted she was flopping back ad forth. Still, the book is good.

  3. Thanks for the great review. Overall, this sounds like a promising first in series, but I can see where you would have a problem with the romance. I enjoy clearly disliking one and cheering for the other, so I like things to be clear in that regard.

  4. Oh yeah, I think that romance might bother me cause it would throw me for a loop. I might be wrong though, and love that its not what you'd expect. I'm not sure. Glad it was still a great read!
