When sheltered American good girl Allyson "LuLu" Healey first meets laid-back Dutch actor Willem De Ruiter at an underground performance of Twelfth Night in England, there’s an undeniable spark. After just one day together, that spark bursts into a flame, or so it seems to Allyson, until the following morning, when she wakes up after a whirlwind day in Paris to discover that Willem has left. Over the next year, Allyson embarks on a journey to come to terms with the narrow confines of her life, and through Shakespeare, travel, and a quest for her almost-true-love, to break free of those confines.

WOW!!!!

This is the word that comes to my mind whenever I pick up Ms. Forman's books. There, I am sure, other words in the english dictionary that could be used to better describe her book but I think this simple word just says it all.

Allyson's character kind of reminds me of myself but in this case I would be the boy version of her. She at first wants to follow procedure and not take risks but when she does, a new person emerges out of her and she becomes another person.

Willem is the mysterious guy that can capture any girls heart but there is something in him that so his fragile side of being human. I cam to hate him but in the end my hate was blown away with the love I first had for him.

The plot has a twist that will make you stop and think, "He didn't." And that is what I love about Ms. Forman. She builds you and tears you down. Emotions filling every pore and just releasing and turning you into a wreck.

Ms. Forman writes yet another compelling contemporary romance that I gave my heart to. I am looking forward to reading the next book and seeing where this continue continues. This book is a romance for everyone.

I give it 5 bites!

  2. I need to read this Chayse! I haven't read anything by Gail Forman and that is a tragedy I think. I'm super curious about Willem and who he is, and I know I'm going to be dying for his book by the time I read this one:)

  6. I enjoyed this one but hated that ending. I was so upset that it ended that way until I realized there is going to be another book in Willem's voice. I then chilled and smiled at that. :)
