Blog Tour: Farsighted

Title: Farsighted
Series: Farsighted #1
Genre: Young Adult-Thriller
Author: Emlyn Chand
Publisher: Blue Crown Press
Release Date: March 15, 2012
Book: Blog Tour

Alex Kosmitoras's life has never been easy. The only other student who will talk to him is the school bully, his parents are dead broke and insanely overprotective, and... oh yeah, he's blind. Just when he thinks he'll never have a shot at a normal life, an enticing new girl comes to their small Midwest town all the way from India. Simmi is smart, nice, and actually wants to be friends with Alex. Plus she smells like an Almond Joy bar. Sophomore year might not be so bad after all. Alex is in store for another new arrival—an unexpected and often embarrassing ability to "see" the future. Try as he may, Alex is unable to ignore his visions, especially when they suggest Simmi is in mortal danger. With the help of the mysterious psychic next door and friends who come bearing gifts of their own, Alex embarks on his journey to change the future.

Before I start this review, the book cover kind of reminds me of Daredevil. Just saying! Okay now back to the review. This book is one when you finish you immediately want the sequel.  You get pulled in and you don't want to come out until you finish.

Alex was a very likable character with I would say a cool super power. I wonder what it would it be like to be blind but then I just say I am thankful for being the way I am. I get an urge to just want to jump into the book and punch the heck out of the bully but the for some reason the pages have this force field preventing me from doing so. Not fair. The chemistry that shows later in the book is cute. So as always let us see where it takes us. I am looking forward to whatever this series brings me.

The plot for me at the beginning was somewhat slow but then the pace picked up and I fell into the story. I have never seen an author do what Ms. Chand does in this book at the beginning of every chapter. Originality surely is shining through.

For lovers of a YA book with a paranormal, fantasy twist, I highly recommend that you pick up this book and see where its adventure takes you.

I give it 4 bites!

  2. This cover definitely has a daredevil feel to it! I both love and hate those books that have me dying for the sequel as soon as I finish - I love it when the sequel is out and available already and I hate when I know I have to wait 6 months or a year for it to release. I like instant gratification:) Glad you enjoyed this Chayse!
