"I don't do dangerous.  Smart, über-careful, ordinary Samantha-that's me. But I just couldn't pass up a surprise kiss from my number-one unattainable crush. A kiss that did something to me...something strange. Now I feel hungry all the time, but not for food. It's like part of me is missing-and I don't know if I can get it back. Then there's Bishop. At first I thought he was just a street kid, but the secrets he's keeping are as intense as his unearthly blue eyes. If he's what I think he is, he may be the only one who can help me. But something terrifying is closing in, and the one chance Bishop and I have to stop it means losing everything I ever wanted and embracing the darkness inside me.... NIGHTWATCHERS When angels and demons must work together, something beyond evil is rising..."

With a lovely cover  and great synopsis, I was expecting to love this book. But, I could not.  Still, the book is good it just didn't grab me the way I wanted it to.

The book follows Samantha, the main character who finds herself fighting a war after a dangerous kiss. Samantha then is on a journey to save the world. I like the plot. It had some great world building that capture me. Angels, souls eaters, and demons, the plot moved quickly. It definitely kept me entertained with all the clues, missions, and new people popping up into the story.

The love interest in the story definitely went places that I didn't see. I loved that both of characters faced an uncertain future with all that is done and held back from them. Both Samantha and Bishop grew lots in knowledge and in their love for one another.

What I couldn't get into much was the characters themselves. Bishop I could step into, but I had a hard time understanding and relating to Samantha. I hope that I could pick up this book late and get into it.

Overall, Dark Kiss is an good book. If you love angels stories and wars between good and evil, read this book.

I give it 3 BITES!

Happy Reading!

  1. Thanks a lot for your honesty. While I'm definitely intrigued by the summary, I'm not really sure what to expect from DARK KISS, so I'm looking forward to reading and finding out whether I'll feel similar about it. :)

  3. I felt the same way. I would be completely captured by their world for a bit, and then I didn't really connect with it. It took me a bit to get through the book.

  4. It sounds really good...if you didn't state your reservations about it, I would have been extremely interested. It's too bad when a book has potential but something just feel right.
