"From New York Times bestselling author Patrick Carman, a teen fantasy-adventure of epic proportions. In 2051, some teens have a “pulse,” the power to move objects with their minds. Compulsively readable, with thrilling action scenes and a tender love story.
The year is 2051, and the world is still recognizable. With the help of her mysterious classmate Dylan Gilmore, Faith Daniels discovers that she can move objects with her mind. This telekinetic ability is called a “pulse,” and Dylan has the talent, too.
In riveting action scenes, Faith demonstrates her ability to use her pulse against a group of telekinesis masters so powerful they will flatten their enemies by uprooting street lights, moving boulders, and changing the course of a hurtling hammer so that it becomes a deadly weapon. But even with great talent, the mind—and the heart—can be difficult to control. If Faith wants to join forces with Dylan and save the world, she’ll have to harness the power of both.
Patrick Carman’s Pulse trilogy is a stunning, action-filled triumph about the power of the mind—and the power of love."

There needs to be more books like this. Intense and satisfying, Pulse brings a whole new card game to the table!

The best part I love about Pulse is the first two pages in the book. It's started off like the opening of a Stephen King novel, playing like a movie in my mind. It's mysterious yet caught my attention right away, never wavering from the moment. This has got to be the best opening that I have ever read in a book. It hooked me, keeping my eyes glued to the paper.

The plot itself does slow down a bit but it gives the reader time to catch up on what is happening in the now. I love that the author slowly work the reader down from the intense high from the beginning to allowing the reader to put the pieces together. Each chapter discloses more characters as well as more secrets as what part Faith plays.

There is types of love interest in the book. The beginning of a great, loyal friendship and a pure love. The friendship came like a surprise. I like the role this boy played. He is truly her friend and is always there for her. He helps her in what ever possible and vice versa. The pure love starts off a little fast for me. The meet but have very little time to know each other. Not to mention the fact that he is a liar. *scowl*  Nonetheless, she falls for him. I'm hoping in the next book there will be more friendship to their instalove.

Pulse is am impressive story that captures the reader from the start. It brilliantly creates a world so different you can't help but dive right in. Exciting and out of the box, Pulse is awesome!

 I give it 4 BITES!

Happy Reading!

  2. I didn't grab this one because I felt a bit unsure about it. I think if I'd seen your review before I probably would have given it a shot though. One thing I do love is that cover!
