Did you ever think you would end up working for a vampire?

No way. I was brought up to hate vampires. My dad always said they're the worst of all evils. But I had no choice but to help Aldric, no matter how much I hated him.

What is the hardest part about protecting Ava?

Ava kind of has a one-track mind, which gets her into trouble. It's hard letting her make her own decisions, when all I want to do is pull her close and keep her safe. That can be frustrating sometimes.

What kind of music do you like to listen to?

Pretty much anything. I like turning on the radio when I'm studying or just laying around and let it play in the background. But I really like Coldplay. They're awesome.

Where did you learn your vampire hunting skills?

From my dad. He started teaching me when I was a little kid. I hated it back then, but I'd give anything to have that time with him again.

If you can change one thing about yourself, what would it be?

Oh wow. Um, probably how I'm obsessive over Ava, to the point she gets mad at me for it? Yeah, I guess I'd change that.

What is the on thing you admire about Ava?

I admire everything about her. But if I have to list one thing, it would have to be her strength. And I don't mean the vampire ass-kicking kind (though that's really cool, too). I mean how she keeps going and doesn't give up, no matter what's thrown at her. I wish I was like her in that way.

Will we learn more about your secrets in the next book?

What secrets? What book? I'm in a book? Wow, that's cool.
