Review: Bad Hair Day

Title: Bad Hair Day
Series: Kate Grable
Genre: Young Adult-Supernatualish/Science Fiction
Author: Carrie Harris
Publisher: Delacorte Press
Release Date: November 13, 2012
Book: Edelweiss

"Senior year is positively hair-raising.
Kate Grable is geeked out to shadow the county medical examiner as part of her school’s pre-med program. Except when he’s arrested for murder, she’s left with the bodies. And when Kate’s brother Jonah stumbles upon a dead gamer girl, she realizes that the zombie epidemic she cured last fall was only the beginning of the weirdness taking over her town. Someone’s murdering kids—something really hairy. And strong. Possibly with claws.
Is it werewolf awesomeness like Jonah and his dorktastic friends think? Kate’s supposed to be a butt-kicking zombie killing genius...but if she can’t figure out who’s behind the freakish attacks, the victims—or what’s left of them—are going to keep piling up.
It’s scary. It’s twisted. It’s sick. It’s high school."

Immediately after finish Bad Taste In Boys I flowed into the sequel not looking back. It is amazing :)

So the book started where the last book left off and Kate is pretty famous. She is even offered  a internship with doctors who are just as fascinated with her. I really adored that Kate took everything in with ease. She is proud of what she discovered but not stuck up. Instead she wants to continue to explore the area of medicine and biology to continue to save those who need help. The zombie disease is in control and scientist a vastly studying it.

Kate once again, finds trouble once again at the start of her internship. Her doctor is mysteriously taken away by the authorities and her boyfriend is being attack by girls. Specifically one girl. I really liked the strained of the their relationship. Kate is clueless as what to do but focuses on bigger things. She doesn't let a guy bring her down. I like that. For once in a book, this girl is not sobbing or whining over a guy. She leaves it in his hands. Take it or leave it buddy! HA!

There are some new developments with other characters as well as a disease. I like that the focus of the book doesn't go too far away from what started it all. Kate is still the smart girl but with a little more umph. She has grown into a smart young lady and is quickly learning about life.

Bad Hair Day is a fantastic sequel! With a new amazing plot and awesome character, Ms. Harris never fails the reader. It's exciting, filled with never ending action. Bad Hair Day is powerful story that rocks!

I give it 5 BITES!

Happy Reading!

"Someone's been a very bad zombie. Kate Grable is horrified to find out that the football coach has given the team steroids. Worse yet, the steriods are having an unexpected effect, turning hot gridiron hunks into mindless flesh-eating zombies. No one is safe--not her cute crush Aaron, not her dorky brother, Jonah . . . not even Kate! She's got to find an antidote--before her entire high school ends up eating each other. So Kate, her best girlfriend, Rocky, and Aaron stage a frantic battle to save their town . . . and stay hormonally human."

I'm so glad that I finally got to read this book. Short and amazing awesome, this story blows me away!

What I enjoyed most about this story is the awesome plot line. Filled with action from start to finish, I had no problems stepping into the story and enjoying it. I really like how the plot immediately catches the reader, entrancing them to keep reading. The plot pacing of the book is evenly paced well that you don't get confused with the story or does it fall flat. The plot keeps moving towards an awesome build up.

The characters on the book are totally amazing. The main character Kate is your typical nerd. She is invisible to everyone, always has her nose in a book and just trying to fit in. I love that Kate is smart and uses that toward her advantage. She is realistic as well as open-minded. Immediately with the first sighting of zombies, Kate is on the case like a Nancy Drew. Looking for clues, searching for answers, and not taking crap from anyone. If anyone got in her way, she found a way around it.

There is also this really cool big sister/little bro duo going on. This gave a good insight on Kate's home life and a much more personal look at Kate. I love that the reader sees these two fighting as well as working together. Kate's little bro looks up to her and does his best to protect her in any way possible. Best brother EVA!

The love interest is quite sweet and moved well. I liked that after all this time Kate is finally noticed by a hottie football player. GO KATE! He is all that you want in guy plus he is smart as well. He immediately takes Kate's word and starting working with her, no questions asked. When  flirting came about, I couldn't help but let a huge grin form in my face.

Bad Taste In Boys is an awesome book that everyone should read. Even though it is short, it certainly packs a punch. Ms. Harris presents the reader with amazing characters and a kick butt plot line. Bad Taste In Boys thrills readers with fantastic writing and world building. Bad Taste In Boys is awesome!

I give it 5 BITES!
