Review: Bourne

Title: Bourne
Series: River Of Time # 3.1
Genre: Young Adult- Historical/Christian
Author: Lisa  T. Bergren
Publisher: Bergren Creative Group
Release Date: February 26, 2012
Book: E-copy sent by author

"In this e-novella, River of Time #3.1, the dramatic tale about the Betarrinis and Forellis continues, picking up directly after where Torrent left off… The battle is done at the front, but the battle is only beginning back at Castello Forelli. Marcello fights for his life; Lord Greco fights to find his place; and Lia fights for love."

If you know me, you know just how much I love this series! I heart this series sooooo much. I swear, I could read it over and over again, and never get bored with it.

So, if you haven't read the series, I suggest you do. This is short story picking up right after the third installment called, Torrent.

I really loved getting back into the shoes of  Gabi. I missed being in her mind and hearing her thoughts. Being that her life has changed dramatically since the first book, I'm glad to see the growth in Gabi. In every decision she makes, she is so much more mature. She really takes her time and thinks things through. Not mention that the new role in her life suites her perfectly.

I was also happy to see some development with her sister, Lia. Lia has done much growing up as well. I'm glad to see her finally facing her feelings, towards someone. I can't wait to see that fully develop!!

Bourne is absolutely perfect. Just giving the reader the right amount of action mixed with love and faith, you can't go wrong when reading this. If you have not read this series, GO NOW! READ IT!!!! With exciting new adventures, Bourne is charming.

I give it 5 BITES!

Happy Reading!

"When Gabi and Lia finally learn to surf the river of time, they realize they must make hard choices about life and love in the third and final book in the River of Time series.

Gabi and Lia Betarrini have learned to control their time travel, and they return from medieval Italy to save their father from his tragic death in modern times.   But love calls across the centuries, and the girls are determined to return forever—even though they know the Black Plague is advancing across Europe, claiming the lives of one-third of the population. In the suspenseful conclusion of the River of Time series, every decision is about life … and death."

I can't even begin to say how much I love this series!! I sat down to read this book and I don't think I ever wanted to come back. I loved the way Ms. Bergren wrote this book. She added such great elements and many surprises that had me gasping for my dear life!

First off, the story line and plot pacing is amazing! The story line picks up right where it left off and you are off to another world. With new elements, Ms. Bergren sweeps the reader off their feet before I can even finish the first page. I love that the plot pacing is perfect. Everything is handed to the reader little by little, that that the reader can feel and read all the characters emotions.

OMG! Lord Greco! Have I told you how Ms. Bergen is able to create such wonderful and HOT characters? This guy left my heart racing and swooning! I feel immediately for this guy. I mean, who wouldn't. Let's just say that the love interest gets hotter and better. I adore that Ms. Bergren wrote the characters so unique yet fulfilling. They all had they own destinies, their own paths that each one must follow.

What makes me love this story even more is that, that it is just a great story. It's clean, fun, action-filled and something that I can read over and over again. It has an enduring love in it, faith, and so many Italian hotties that I can't even keep count. This is one amazing story and a awesome writer. Torrent is a must read! The River of Time series is a must read! You must read all of them. I can tell you that you will fall in love and never look back!

I give it 5 BITES!

Happy Reading!

Review: Cascade

Title: Cascade
Series: River of Time # 2
Genre: Young Adult-Historical Romance//Fantasy
Author: Lisa Bergren
Publisher: David C. Cook
Release Date: June 1, 2011
Book: e-copy sent by author

"Mom touched my underdress—a gown made six hundred years before—and her eyes widened as she rubbed the raw silk between thumb and forefinger. She turned and touched Lia’s gown. “Where did you get these clothes?”
Gabi knows she’s left her heart in the fourteenth century and she persuades Lia to help her to return, even though they know doing so will risk their very lives. When they arrive, weeks have passed and all of Siena longs to celebrate the heroines who turned the tide in the battle against Florence—while the Florentines will go to great lengths to see them dead.

But Marcello patiently awaits, and Gabi must decide if she’s willing to leave her family behind for good in order to give her heart to him forever."

Oh Marcello, you hot Italian you. I missed you so much, but in this book you made me so happy! I love this series. And the title fits the book so well too. Cascade is exactly was this book does. This book just keeps on tumbling down, spiraling the reader into a never ending fall of good writing.

This book picks off right where the book left off only this time, involving the mother. I can say that as you read this book, mixing the element in bringing in the mother is a good touch. I liked how it showcased the family fighting together as one.

Once again, both sisters and the mother are caught up in the politics and war. The sisters fight for not only their hearts but for their men. Gabi is a strong women who really put her heart out there. She continues to amaze me with her wild ideas and great fighting. Both sisters and mother really swept the men off their feet with their fighting techniques that is made me smile big. I loved how the men really love these women and boasted about it too.

All the characters in the book grew up so much. Even Lia, Gabi's sister grew up as well. She was lost but found herself in someone. I was glad that she finally admitted it. Gabi as well, learned so much. She learn to trust Marcello and also trust her instincts. Gabi was right about many things and I like how she followed her heart. Gabi also went through some very hurtful times. I like how she held herself up high in it and had faith in God.

Now, the ending. Oh Ms. Bergren, you really know how to make a good twist in the book huh? I can say that I am one excited reader to see how this new twist will endure in Torment. I think with this whole new element in it, the next book is going to be very exciting to read! If you haven't read this series, I demand you go to you local bookstore and get this book! It will leave you speechless!

I give it 5 BITES!

Happy Reading!

I love historicals! And I just can't begin, or can't explain how much I love this book. From the very first page I was hooked. What grabbed me the most was the love and plot of this book. Two great things in a book that always catch me by the heart. Gabi and her sister a transported back in time after sneaking in to a dig their mother told them not to go in. Gabi is found by Italian hotties (fans self), and is aided my Marcello (fans self again) to find her sister.

The reason why I love historicals is because I find myself amused with past. I myself would one day love to time-travel and see things the way it used to be. Plus historicals make me laugh. Gabi's character is fun, witty, and strong. She had me laughing with her forwardness about things. She always forgot herself, and had to correct her language. The people in the past make weird faces where you say something funny!

The love between Marcello and Gabi is timeless! It is a classic love bound by time. It just figures that you find the one you love back in fourteenth century! I enjoyed watching them fight with each other and get on each other nerves. Perfect! From the very beginning of their spats, you knew they were meant to be!

If you looking for a great historical with lots of action, funny remarks and love worth dying for, read this book. I can't begin to tell you how much you'll love it. Ms. Bergren has written a plot so good you will not put the book down. Ms. Bergren characters are easy to relate to and easy to feel. Every twist and turn of the plot, has you gasping, losing every sense of reality that you have. You literally fall into the book and don't want to come back. (At least I didn't) Can't wait to read the second book!

I give it 5 BITES!
