Review: Fallen In Love

Title: Fallen In Love
Series: Fallen # 3.5
Genre: Young Adult- Paranormal
Author: Lauren Kate
Publisher:  Delacorte Press for Young Readers
Release Date: January 24, 2012
Book: Netgalley

"What makes your heart race a little faster? Just in time for Valentine's Day, it's FALLEN IN LOVE, four wholly original new stories collected in a new novel set in the Middle Ages by Lauren Kate. FALLEN IN LOVE gives fans the much-talked about but never-revealed stories of FALLEN characters as they intertwine with the epic love story of Luce and Daniel. The stories include: Love Where You Least Expect It: The Valentine of Shelby and Miles , Love Lessons: The Valentine of Roland; Burning Love: The Valentine of Arriane; and Endless Love: The Valentine of Daniel and Lucinda."

This book contain several short stories of love with in the world of the Fallen series. I admit that I didn't like all of the stories. But there was one that stood out to me that I loved.

The stories in the book were:
Love Where You Least Expect It: The Valentine of Shelby and Miles , Love Lessons: The Valentine of Roland; Burning Love: The Valentine of Arriane; and Endless Love: The Valentine of Daniel and Lucinda."

The one that I loved the most is The Valentine of Roland. His story is so heart aching beautiful! I fell in love with what he did. His selflessness to protect and love her even from afar. This story took my breathe away.

The other story was Endless Love. This is another story of Daniel and Luce just trying to be together again. I really like how all of the stories revolve around different characters in and out of Daniel and Luce's life.  Ms. Kate created  a different setting  with  each character. To see them in another time, another place was really neat.

If you enjoy the Fallen series, you will enjoy this book! All the stories are great in detail and leave the reader even in more in love with Daniel, Luce and the other great characters in the Fallen series.

Review: Passion

Title: Passion
Series: Fallen # 3
Genre: Young Adult- Paranormal/Fantasy
Author: Lauren Kate
Publisher: Random House Children's Book
Release Date: June 14, 2011
Book: Bought
"Luce would die for Daniel.
And she has. Over and over again. Throughout time, Luce and Daniel have found each other, only to be painfully torn apart: Luce dead, Daniel left broken and alone. But perhaps it doesn’t need to be that way. . . .
Luce is certain that something—or someone—in a past life can help her in her present one. So she begins the most important journey of this lifetime . . . going back eternities to witness firsthand her romances with Daniel . . . and finally unlock the key to making their love last.
Cam and the legions of angels and Outcasts are desperate to catch Luce, but none are as frantic as Daniel. He chases Luce through their shared pasts, terrified of what might happen if she rewrites history.
Because their romance for the ages could go up in flames . . . forever.
Sweeping across centuries, PASSION is the third novel in the unforgettably epic FALLEN series."

I, like so many readers, have been following this series from the very beginning and have love it. One thing I enjoyed about this book is the fact that Luce has finally taken things in her own hands. I loved that she is stronger then ever. That she is finally doing things her way instead of Daniels.

Luce has come a long way. She has learn many secrets and in this book learns some more. The most important things is that she learns more about Daniel and his love for her. I admire her perseverance in finding out what really is going on with them by traveling back in time. It gave the reader a better insight in their past life and who they came to be today. It also showed more of Daniel and the heart ache he goes through. I never thought I say this, but I finally understand him. This book is important to the readers to see things from Daniel point of view.

Secrets in this book just keep on flowing . I love how the author is tying up loose ends and is creating a build up for the final book. I must say that the ending was not at ALL what I was expecting but a wonderful surprise indeed. Now that I see it coming together, I can't wait to see how the last book is going to be.

If you have not jumped on the band wagon of the Fallen you should. A love that has withstand time, that keeps on going, I am hoping that Daniel and Luce will finally get their happy ending!

I give it 4 BITES!

Happy Reading!

Review: Torment

Review: Torment
Series: Fallen # 2
Genre: Young Adult- Paranormal
Author: Lauren Kate
Published: Delcorte Press
Release Date: September 28, 2010
Book: Bought

"How many lives do you need to live before you find someone worth dying for? In the aftermath of what happened at Sword & Cross, Luce has been hidden away by her cursed angelic boyfriend, Daniel, in a new school filled with Nephilim, the offspring of fallen angels and humans. Daniel promises she will be safe here, protected from those who would kill her. At the school Luce discovers what the Shadows that have followed her all her life mean - and how to manipulate them to see into her other lives. Yet the more Luce learns about herself, the more she realizes that the past is her only key to unlocking her future...and that Daniel hasn't told her everything. What if his version of the past isn't actually the way things happened...what if Luce was really meant to be with someone else?"
Just when you think things start to get better, things get worse. A whole lot worse. And the thing about relationships is weird. You get to know someone, fall in love, and then BAM! Once you think you settled in, things are going fine, your significant others skeletons start coming out of the closet. What do you do? Who do you believe? Can you believe anything that he says to you after he lied for so long to you?

Poor Luce. This book was nothing but a downer. A major downer. I love it! There was so much drama, so many secrets, and so many new characters, I just had to keep in reading :)

We all know relationships can be hard. That is what Luce and Daniel experience. First, they fought for their love now they fight to stay together. I hate to say this, but why is it that guys always lie? Poor Luce finds out she had been lied too and now she goes off seeking the truth. I felt like alot could have been avoided, had Daniel been honest.

The relationship strained between Daniel and Luce played out well. All the stuff, secrets held back was wonderful. Absolutely delightful. I enjoyed watching not only Luce grow, but Daniel learned somethings the hard way as well.

The new characters in this book rock! I loved how the parts they played, played a significant role in Daniel and Luce's story. Now Daniel has some competition! I believe Luce intentions were well intended. Although I don't think she meant for it to happen that way, but it did. Now she'll have to figure things outs.

What I enjoyed most was Luce finally coming to her own. She always followed Daniel and his rules. Here, she finally breaks free of it, takes control and goes after what she needs. I love how she became strong in who she was. No matter how many times she almost got killed.

I give it 5 BITES!

Happy Reading!

Review: Fallen

Title: Fallen
Series: Fallen # 1
Genre: Young Adult- Paranormal/Angels
Author: Lauren Kate
Publisher: Delacorte Press
Release Date: December 8, 2009
Book: Bought

"There’s something achingly familiar about Daniel Grigori.

Mysterious and aloof, he captures Luce Price’s attention from the moment she sees him on her first day at the Sword & Cross boarding school in sultry Savannah, Georgia. He’s the one bright spot in a place where cell phones are forbidden, the other students are all screw-ups, and security cameras watch every move.

Even though Daniel wants nothing to do with Luce–and goes out of his way to make that very clear–she can’t let it go. Drawn to him like a moth to a flame, she has to find out what Daniel is so desperate to keep secret . . . even if it kills her."

This book was absolutely-freaking-BRILLIANT! I loved this book.

We begin with Luce, a delinquent teen who goes to a reform school. She meets Daniel Grigori who seems oddly familiar to her. Daniel is completely rude and hostile towards her. He looks at her mean, talks to her rude. Luce baffled by this wants to know why he treats her so rudely.

Daniel is a fallen angel. A fallen angel cursed to live while his true love Luce is taken away. Just think, you fall in love, have a first kiss, say "I love you" then BAM! She's gone. Just like that. Not to see her again for another seventeen years! Well Daniel has had enough. He is tired of going through pain of losing her.
This is not an action pack book. It has a lot more dialogue in the relationship between Daniel and Luce. I loved that part. Seeing them grow together in the relationship is the best. Also getting to hear about their past lives was neat too.

The book was darkenly dangerous from the beginning. It was well written and the plot... OMG! The plots that lead to the ending were, well...lets just say I didn't see that one coming! I was hook on Daniel and Luce with their love story. Forget vampires! If you want to read a different kind of paranormal read this. Fallen is a dark, romantic, mysterious read.
I give it 5 BITES!

Happy Reading!
