Review: The Last Archangel

Title: The Last Archangel
Series: No
Genre: Young Adult- Supernatural/Fantasy
Author: Michael Young
Publisher: Bonneville Books
Release Date: July 14, 2011
Book: Netgalley

"Xandir has been exiled to earth until the end of time. But when his cherub trainee disappears, Xandir makes a deal with rogue angels and giants that could restore life to the mortal woman he loves and end his assignment as a destroying angel in exchange for helping them bring about the end of the world and all of mankind."

I really tried to like this book, I did. But I could not just get into it. And that is saying a lot for me as a person who reads constantly. I always do my best to give the book a chance. I forced myself to read half way through and once I found myself constantly re-reading paragraphs, I deceided to set it down. This is my first DNF.

The reason why I could not get into is that while the characters are good, the storyline was not. I had a hard time really stepping into the feel of the story. I love the characters especially Judy and Eden, I could tell right from the start that these two ladies would have a profound affect in the end of the world. As far as the angel part....I am all for biblical parts because I love it. Bibical stuff has always interest me, but these angel were boring. I could not relate nor could I see the characters in my head.

I am sorry that this book did not work out for me the way I intended it. Maybe sometime in the future I will pick it up again and see how it goes.

I give it 2 BITES!

Happy Reading!

Review: Lost Voices

Title: Lost Voices
Series: Lost Voices # 1
Genre: Young Adult- Supernatural/Fantasy
Author: Sarah Porter
Publisher: Harcourt Children's Books
Release Date: July 4, 2011
Book: ARC sent by publisher

"Fourteen-year-old Luce has had a tough life, but she reaches the depths of despair when she is assaulted and left on the cliffs outside of a grim, gray Alaskan fishing village. She expects to die when she tumbles into the icy waves below, but instead undergoes an astonishing transformation and becomes a mermaid. A tribe of mermaids finds Luce and welcomes her in—all of them, like her, lost girls who surrendered their humanity in the darkest moments of their lives. Luce is thrilled with her new life until she discovers the catch: the mermaids feel an uncontrollable desire to drown seafarers, using their enchanted voices to lure ships into the rocks. Luce possesses an extraordinary singing talent, which makes her important to the tribe—she may even have a shot at becoming their queen. However her struggle to retain her humanity puts her at odds with her new friends. Will Luce be pressured into committing mass murder?"

I really love mermaid stories and when I read the back of the book it captured me. Mostly cause the storyline was different then what I see around. And this book was different yet it did run along the same lines as other mermaid stories.

The characters in this book I really like. They were all the same as in the burden that they carried as a a human. I really like the old tale of how they become mermaids. It gave a an interesting twist on the story all together. Luce has been through so much. I adored her stealth and wittiness. She was different but didn't flaunt it. She just wanted to live a happy normal life for once. One thing that really grabbed me about her was her ways of finding out things. Even when she was sneaking around looking for answers, she never gave to much of herself away. She was always once step ahead of everyone.

One thing that really grabbed me about this book was that there was no love interest. These girls or rather mermaids, their tale of surviving and what they went through was enough to hold the reader. They had to come to the conclusions if what they were doing was right. Do they seek forgiveness and let it go or do they allow humans to pay for the past things that was done to them? What these mermaids come to find is that there anger has caused more pain then what they know.

I give it 4 BITES!

Review: Sharks & Boys

Title: Sharks & Boys
Series: No
Genre: Young Adult- Contemporary
Author: Kristen Tracy
Publisher: Hyperion Book
Release Date: June 28, 2011
Book: Netgalley/ ARC given to me by Joni at Paragraphs

"When 15-year-old Enid Calhoun follows her boyfriend Wick to Maryland for a party, fearful that he might be intending to cheat on her, she finds herself sneaking on board a houseboat where Wick and his friends plan to have a wild night. But before the boys discover their stowaway, a hurricane strikes, and the teenagers are carried miles from the shore and shipwrecked. What follows is a harrowing, yet heartwarming, story of survival, as the teens battle hypothermia, dehydration, man-eating sharks--and along the way, confront their own deepest secrets, including their catalytic roles in the disaster."
I can't begin to tell you how much I really loved this book. There is so much in it that I don't even know where to start!

Okay, so, the storyline...AMAZING! I really loved how it all flowed so smoothly that nothing passes you in the story. As the reader, you immediately fall into the story and into Enid shoes. Enid is your typical teenager with realistic problems that we all face, except she get stranded in the ocean with nothing but boys. At the beginning, we see Enid struggling in finding who she is. Enid deal with family problems, boyfriend drama, etc. Things are crazy in her life and she is dealing with it the best that she knows how. I loved how insecure she was and how she kept all her feelings inside. It made Enid much more real to the reader. Ms. Tracy really grabbed the voice of the teenager really well. I love how easy it was to not only see Enid in your mind but as well as her feelings.

I also loved how we, as the reader see things from different points of view. I have never read a book where I can really see from a guys point of view. I love it when Landon said," Don't think like a girl." He had such great advice and such strength to his sister. I really admired him for being a great older brother. I think I will even take that advice for myself.

One thing I enjoyed in this book are the lessons in it. It really gave a strong message on forgiveness. Forgiveness for not only the others, but for yourself as well. Sometimes we don't realize how angry we are with the person and how much it changed us. It can change relationships, your whole personality cause of the hurt, betrayal, and pain that you are carrying. I love that while Enid is facing such a hard time in her life, that she can have such a great and profound revelation.

Shark & Boys is an excellent read. Full of sharks not only in the water but in life, the reader see the characters grow immensely in this book. This book blew me away in the foundation of the story from hurt and betrayal going to love and forgiveness.
*There was some cursing and drinking*

I give it 5 BITES!

Review: Legacy

Title: Legacy
Series: Legacy # 1
Genre: Young Adult-Fantasy/Historical Romance
Author: Cayla Kluver
Publisher: Harlequin Teen
Release Date: June 21, 2011
Book: Netgalley

"The first boy disappeared on the day of his birth, on a night when the pale yellow moon of the nighttime sky turned red and bathed the heavens in the ghastly color of blood, on the same night the Kingdom of Cokyri abruptly ceased its merciless attack.

Across the land of Hytanica, under the shadow of the crimson moon, infant boys continued to vanish. Not until the blood had faded from the sky did the disappearances stop and the bodies of the murdered infants were found outside the gates of the city, a final word from the greatest enemy Hytanica had ever known. For the next sixteen years, peace reigned, but one mystery remained unsolved. The Cokyrians had abducted forty-nine newborns, but returned only forty-eight bodies. Now, as seventeen-year-old Princess Alera of Hytanica is besieged from all sides by suitors vying for the Throne, a teenage Cokyrian boy, Narian, is encountered within the walls of her Kingdom, a boy who will show Alera a world where women serve a purpose and not just a husband. As Narian helps Alera find her voice, she struggles against an arranged marriage that will shatter the life she has scarcely begun to live. And when Narian's shocking past is uncovered, and war with Cokyri looms once more, he must fight to defy a fate ordained at his birth."

What really got me about this book is the great pacing of it. As you read it, everything is given to you little by little so you are not left behind or given too much. You were given just enough to keep you entertain in the book and never bored.

The storyline for one is awesome! The reader is immediately put into a town that had a bad history. I really loved it when a book starts off with a great history not only to the characters but the story as well. I love how well the story just kept on going with so much information that you just devoured it. There was so much to read. All the information based on the city, the king, their kingdom was cool.

Alera is a strong characters. She comes off as fresh yet she is her own self. She knows what is expected of her but want to follow her heart. I loved Alea attitude with things. At times she was so dramatic it made me laugh. She is very insightful about things and is selfless.

The love interest was good but had me confused at times. I was so sure that when I started reading that there was something about London, but no, I was wrong. Which I like cause Ms. Kluver really kept me on my toes. Nothing was predictable in this book. Nothing. The love interest played well with the history of the kingdom and really escalated  into an awesome forbidden love.

Legacy is a great historical book with a great plot line. I enjoyed reading every single word in that book. It made me smile, laugh, and most of all, made me feel the story. Ms. Kluver writing was easy to read so you fell into the story quickly.

I give it 5 BITES!

Review: Spellbound

Title: Spellbound
Series:  Spellbound # 1
Genre: Young Adult- Supernatural
Author: Cara Lynn Shultz
Publisher: Harlequin Teen
Release Date: June 28, 2011
Book: Netgalley

"What's a girl to do when meeting The One means she's cursed to die a horrible death?
Life hasn't been easy on sixteen-year-old Emma Conner, so a new start in New York may be just the change she needs. But the posh Upper East Side prep school she has to attend? Not so much. Friendly faces are few and far between, except for one that she's irresistibly drawn to—Brendan Salinger, the guy with the rock-star good looks and the richest kid in school, who might just be her very own white knight.

But even when Brendan inexplicably turns cold, Emma can't stop staring. Ever since she laid eyes on him, strange things have been happening. Streetlamps go out wherever she walks, and Emma's been having the oddest dreams: visions of herself in past lives—visions that warn her to stay away from Brendan. Or else."

I love how now book story lines are getting more and more creative and out of the box. I adored the storyline in this book. I like how their love is not only true but cursed.

I liked how immediately the reader was thrown into this poor girls life. Emma, had such a heart breaking past that you felt for her right away. I' not sure how to explain myself with this, but her life was just too tragic for something not be wrong. I knew right away that Emma had something special about her that cause her such a bad past. Ms. Shutlz really did a great job on giving a good back round on Emma, without too much information. As the storyline flowed, you gather bits and bits till it all come together.

The love interest was very enduring! I love watching  both Emma and Brendan not only fight for each other  but also fight against each other. The struggle was futile. I like how Brendan has such  a strong trait for a character. He was strong in muscles (oh la la), in smarts, and in himself. He knew who he was and didn't let the school get to him. Emma on the other hand, had such a hard time seeing things good for herself. Seeing how her past was, I am glad that Brendan was strong for her.

The whole storyline with the curse was sweet. I like how well the curse was binding but also breakable. I also adored how the curse could be broken with a simple act. The storyline of the book held a lot of significance of how to deal with things in the future. As the reader, you see things connect. You get to follow along and unbound the curse together.

Overall, Spellbound is absolutely binding. You will get hooked on the curse and not let it go. You will fall in love with it and endure till the end.

I give  it 4 BITES!

Happy Reading!

Title: Hereafter
Series: Hereafter # 1

"Can there truly be love after death?

But even while they struggle to keep their bond hidden from the living world, a frightening spirit named Eli is doing everything in his power to destroy their newfound happiness and drag Amelia back into the ghost world . . . forever."

Now this is one book that totally blew me off my feet! The plot! OMG!, the plot. It had me hooked from the very first page! I like that this book has very unique idea. The way it was played out was good. I enjoyed learning and going along with the characters as they discovered the past that they have forgotten.

The characters in this book I loved. I like how the main character was lost. It made the story much more juicier cause you, as the reader, get to experience everything as the first just like her. Amelia is so strong and different. I even enjoyed her willingness to finds things out. After sitting out for a while, she wanted answers!!

The love interest in the book is what makes this book rock. It like a love that is forbidden and somewhat impossible. I like how well they connected with each other from the first time that they meant. It seemed as though they had a long history with each other. You knew they were meant to be together. The obstacles they went through were the same as any other couple but still a little much harder. I can only hope that they can have a future together.

Hereafter is a great, haunting book with a love that is forbidden and worth fighting for. Her plot twists were amazing as well as the details going into the book. The places, feelings, and characters you can all feel and see in your head. This is one book you don't want to miss reading!

I give it 5 BITES!

Review: Queen of the Dead

Title: Queen of the Dead
Series: The Ghost and The Goth # 2
Genre: Young Adult- Paranormal/Supernatural
Author: Stacey Kade
Publisher: Hyperion Books
Release Date: June 7, 2011
Book: Netgalley

"After being sent back from the light, Alona Dare - former homecoming queen, current Queen of the Dead - finds herself doing something she never expected: working. Instead of spending days perfecting her tan by the pool (her typical summer routine when she was, you know, alive), Alona must now cater to the needs of other lost spirits. By her side for all of this - ugh - “helping of others” is Will Killian: social outcast, seer of the dead, and someone Alona cares about more than she’d like.

Before Alona can make a final ruling on Will’s “friend” or “more” status, though, she discovers trouble at home. Her mom is tossing out Alona’s most valuable possessions, and her dad is expecting a new daughter with his wicked wife. Is it possible her family is already moving on? Hello! She’s only been dead for two months! Thankfully, Alona knows just the guy who can put a stop to this mess.

Unfortunately for Alona, Will has other stuff on his mind, and Mina, a young (and beautiful) seer, is at the top of the list. She’s the first ghost-talker Will’s ever met—aside from his father—and she may hold answers to Will’s troubled past. But can she be trusted? Alona immediately puts a check mark in the “clearly not” column. But Will is - ahem - willing to find out, even if it means leaving a hurt and angry Alona to her own devices, which is never a good idea."

Ms. Kade, you have done it again! I really enjoyed this book. Everything about this book rocked. It had an bombastic plot, great characters and some great twist that had me gasping!!

What I like most about this book is plot and the plot twist. Alona, had to deal with a lot of hardships and some new things going on that she had no say or control over. I think this part was written well. I really felt her anger as well as feel for her. Although, I am a little miffed at Will. I would think that by now he would have know that Alona has changed some. Yet, he still thought of her of someone who will do bad things.

Both character's went through a lot of growing up. I like how the reader got to see them grow not only in their ghost helping abilities but in themselves as well. Towards the end of the book you can see the change in both of them. A lot of things were revealed in this book as well as some major changes. I am anxious to see how it will all effect the future of Alona and Will in the next book.

Overall, Queen of the Dead is a great sequel! Not only did I find it humorous, but it kept me entertain till the very end. I am rooting for both Alona and Will to have a great ending with the awesome twist Ms. Kade threw in there. Written fabulously, I can't wait to read the next installment!

 I give it 5 BITES!

Review: Putting Makeup on Dead People

Title: Putting Makeup on Dead People
Series: No
 Genre: Young Adult- Contemporary
Author: Jen Violi
Publisher: Hyperion Books
Release Date: May 24, 2011
Book: Netgalley

"In the spring of her senior year, Donna Parisi finds new life in an unexpected place: a coffin.
Since her father’s death four years ago, Donna has gone through the motions of living: her friendships are empty, she’s clueless about what to do after high school graduation, and her grief keeps her isolated, cut off even from the one parent she has left. That is until she’s standing in front of the dead body of a classmate at Brighton Brothers’ Funeral Home. At that moment, Donna realizes what might just give her life purpose is comforting others in death. That maybe who she really wants to be is a mortician.

This discovery sets in motion a life Donna never imagined was possible. She befriends a charismatic new student, Liz, notices a boy, Charlie, and realizes that maybe he's been noticing her, too, and finds herself trying things she hadn’t dreamed of trying before. By taking risks, Donna comes into her own, diving into her mortuary studies with a passion and skill she didn’t know she had in her. And she finally understands that moving forward doesn’t mean forgetting someone you love."

What I like most about this book was her self discovery. Donna has been through so much with losing her father at a young age. She tried to relate or feel in the moment. She took lots of risk, some I don't even approve of or liked, but in the end, she found who she needed to be, herself.

Now with I don't approve of. I know that when a  teenager rebels, they rebel. And granted the whole situation was not her fault but what I didn't like was the fact that she liked it.

Donna is a great character, whom learn a great life lesson. She found the one she was truly meant to be with and held on to it. She learn to forgive and let things go, so she could move on with her life. She also learn who she was and stuck with what she love. I loved walking along with Donna to see her become someone new.

I would not recommend this book for a young teen. There is a lot of cursing and while there is no sex, there is still some pretty heavy messing around*

I give it 3 BITES!

Review: The Magnolia League

Title: The Magnolia League
Series: The Magnolia League # 1
Genre: Young Adult- Supernatural/Fantasy
Author: Katie Crouch
Publisher: Poppy
Release Date: May 3, 2011
Book: Netgalley

"After the death of her free-spirited mother, sixteen-year-old Alex Lee must leave her home in northern California to live with her wealthy grandmother in Savannah, Georgia. By birth, Alex is a rightful, if unwilling, member of the Magnolia League, Savannah's long-standing debutante society. She quickly discovers that the Magnolias have made a pact with a legendary hoodoo family, the Buzzards. The Magnolias enjoy youth, beauty and power. But at what price?

As in her popular adult novels, Crouch's poignant and humorous voice shines in this seductively atmospheric story about girls growing up in a magical Southern city."

What really got me about this book was the plot. I fell into with ease and enjoyed the trickery that The Magonlia League does.  I have to admit that the plot twist is amazing! I would have never thought it be what it be, but I like it a lot.

The main character Alex is like no other. She doesn't fit into the crowd and doesn't do what everyone else does. She follows her own beat. When she first came to Savannah, Georgia, she completely changed their world. I loved that she was so unique and different. It made for a great storyline.

The characters on the other hands were rough and out there. The things the girls did, where, WOAH! I was shocked by some of the things they did and how they did it. I like that the plot had a great twist with the characters. At first you thought since they were minor characters they don't play a big role, but boy did they ever! I knew something was up. The hoodoo, magic stuff was cool. I like the whole idea of it. I am glad to read something that is new in a book.

The ending with the cliffhanger was awesome! I absolutely adored the way is all turn out in the in! I can only wish to know what happens next. This is a really fun book to read that will leave you hanging by all the plot twist!

I give it 4 BITES!

Happy Reading!

Review: The Girl in the Steel Corset

Title: The Girl in the Steel Corset
Series: Steampunk Chronicles # 1
Genre: Young Adult- Steampunk/Fantasy
Author: Kady Cross
Publisher: Harlequin Teen
Release Date: May 24, 2011
Book: Netgalley

"In 1897 England, sixteen-year-old Finley Jayne has no one…except the "thing" inside her.
When a young lord tries to take advantage of Finley, she fights back. And wins. But no normal Victorian girl has a darker side that makes her capable of knocking out a full-grown man with one punch….

Only Griffin King sees the magical darkness inside her that says she's special, says she's one of them. The orphaned duke takes her in from the gaslit streets against the wishes of his band of misfits: Emily, who has her own special abilities and an unrequited love for Sam, who is part robot; and Jasper, an American cowboy with a shadowy secret.

Griffin's investigating a criminal called The Machinist, the mastermind behind several recent crimes by automatons. Finley thinks she can help—and finally be a part of something, finally fit in.
But The Machinist wants to tear Griff's little company of strays apart, and it isn't long before trust is tested on all sides. At least Finley knows whose side she's on—even if it seems no one believes her."

OMG! I know I say this plenty of times but, WOW! I really, really, LOVED this book! Steampunk is becoming my new favorite genre.

What I like most about this book is the plot. The plot instantly grabbed you and took you away. The plot starts off fast sucking you into the world of 1897. I adored walking in the shoes of Finley. She was so strong and courageous! As the storyline unfolds, you see begin to find answers to the questions that are popping up in your head. What I also like are the several small plot lines that are also going on in the main story. I quickly got attached to the minor characters. These characters may have started off small, but in the end, they played a bigger part then they realized.

I like how all the characters are somewhat connected. Each of them have a connection to each other. That was another plus in the story, the characters. Each characters are the own. They each have their own abilities, strengths, and faults. But one thing that remains between them is their loyaltly to each other. They know that they are different and do their best to not only accept each other, but protect each other.

If you love a kick-butt heroine, that has the strength of her fabulous steel corset, read this book! Not only will you devour it, but it will have you wanting more! Ms. Cross wrote a fantastic book that showcased her wonderful writing. It was an excellent, well describe book that was a very enjoyable read!

 I give it 5 BITES!

Review: Bite Me, Try Me, Fang Me

Title: Bite Me, Try Me, Fang Me
Series: Demon Underground #1,2, &3
Genre: Young Adult- Paranormal/Supernatural
Author: Parker Blue
Publisher: Bell Bridge Books
Released: September 30, 2011
Book: Netgalley

"An edgy book for teens that spans the gap between YA and adult fiction. Life after high school is tough enough without having to go 15 rounds with your inner demon. Val Shapiro is just your ordinary, part-demon, teenaged vampire hunter with a Texas drawl. And a pet hellhound named Fang. Soon enough she finds herself deep in the underbelly of the city, discovering the secrets of the Demon Underground and fighting to save those she loves. Whether they love her back or not."

The first book was explosive. It was jammed packed with fighting, drama, and a girl who was trying to find herself. The reader got put immediately in her shoes and you felt her anger, well at least I did. Val never got a break. She was blamed for everything and told to stay away from her family. It was harsh. The way that she found herself I liked. She put her powers to use in a good way helping keeping the city safe. I adored her strength to keep her head on straight and do what needed to be done regardless of her feelings.

The love interest was good. Although, I am a bit miffed at the way Dan treated her. Dan, you are a Class A jerkwad. That is all.

I give it 5 BITES!

"This part-demon teen vampire fighter and her faithful terrier hellhound are once again patrolling the dark city streets of San Antonio, Texas. Val's hunky human partner, Detective Dan Sullivan, is giving her the cold shoulder since she beheaded his vampire ex-fiancée. Vamp leader Alejandro is struggling to keep the peace between vamps, demons and humans. The mucho powerful Encyclopedia Magicka has been stolen, someone in the Demon Underground is poisoning vamps, and Val's inner lust demon, Lola, is getting very restless since Val's now partnered with sexy Shade, the shadow demon with the blond good looks of an angel."

This book still kept the action but it was tone down a bit. It was more about her relationship with people and finding out who she really was. She was discovering who her father was and if there are others out there like her. I am glad that she is able to find the answer that she is seeking. Some of them were hard to face, but she did it. I love her hellhound dog. I really believe that without that dog giving her the strength that she needed she may not be where she is at. That dog always gives her the truth and the right amount of encouragement.
Oh and I still thinks Dan is a Class A Jerkwad!

 I give it 4 BITES!

"The vampires want it. The demons want it too. And someone is willing to kill Val for it.

Val and Fang have to find the powerful Encyclopedia Magicka before either of San Antonio's warring underworld factions locate it, or the consequences will be deadly for the entire city.

As usual, Val's vampire enemies (they still call her The Slayer,) want her dead, and even some of her fellow demons may be less than trustworthy, since they'd like to grab the legendary book of spells before she does. Val has a personal claim to the Encyclopedia--her demon father left it to her when he died--but someone stole it recently. Where did the thief hide it?

Battling vamps and dodging demons, Val struggles to unravel the mystery. At the same time, she's fighting her attraction to sweet, sexy Shade, her favorite incubus. Rumor has it that Val will lose her half-demon, vampire-fighting powers if she gives herself to him.

With a crowd of vamps and demons out to trick her or kill her, it's not a good time for her to risk her job as the city's best vampire hunter by falling in love. The stakes are high--and aimed right at her heart. But Lola, Val's hungry little lust demon, doesn't like being denied. Will Lola finally get her way?"

This book has so much action in it. As the reader, we finally get some real answers as to what is going on. I love that Val finally found someone who can appreciate her. I now how some kind of respect for Dan, but I still think he is jerkwad for what he did. Val is also learning to control her inner demon. In the beginning, you see her struggle with who she is. I was happy to see that Val has accepted everything and is learning more and more control. The big showdown at the end was sweet. I adored all the sword action and fighting. This is one series I am now hooked on!

The series is not done yet. There are still more on the way. The Demon Underground series is great for those who love some real drama and real fighting. This series had my heart racing! It made me feel Val's every emotion! If you love paranormal romance, fighting, and some real good betrayal, read this series! Plus, you'll fall in love with Fang!

I give it 4 BITES!

Review: Swept Away

Title: Swept Away
Series: Swept Away # 2
Genre: Young Adult- Contemporary
Author: Nicole O'Dell
Publisher: Barbour Books
Release Date: April 1, 2011
Book: Netgalley

"Decisions, decisions! How is a girl supposed to choose? Lessons of right and wrong are put to the test in the Scenarios series, where you can test your decision-making abilities in an eye-opening, but safe, way. Each book follows a character up to the point where she has to make an important, life-changing decision—then it’s your turn to choose. Will your choices lead to a happy ending?"

This book has two book in one. While both books were different, both books taught good morals. And that is something you don't see in books often. I like how you can read these book and not only get to choose what paths the characters take, but you get a life lesson out of it.

The first book was based on cheating, Should you come clean or let your best friend take the fall for it. As always, I take as many paths  as I can take to see the different outcomes. I was pleasantly surprised how pleased it all turn out. It had a happy ending with things coming out right.

The second book was based on having faith in God. Not all things work out and sometimes you must pray and wait. Not every family perfect either. We all make mistakes and we all do things that we regret. Remember: a family that prays together, stays together.

I give it 4 BITES!

What if every story you wrote down came true? If you ask me that is pretty creepy but I love this plot. Not only was it unique but I love that  the main character was boy who was a  writer. His stories are creepy and very detailing. For a young writer, he has some great potential.

The plot was good. Very good. I love how he was compelled to write as if he couldn't control it. He needed to write, to get it out. He had no idea that they will come true. I love how the plot twist with the new character Sophie. The twists and turn in the plot were creepy and messed up. I would have never thought it to be that way.

My only gripe about this book is that it is short. Its only 116 pages so I finished this real fast. I was hoping to learn more about Omar and the wonderful creepy stories he writes. Unthinkable is a great, creepy book. The only thing I can compare it to is The Secret Window but with a teen writer. Great creepy stories that makes you wonder how in the world did they ever come to life?

I give it 4 BITES!

Review: Die For Me

Title: Die for Me
Series: Revenants # 1
Genre: Young Adult- Paranormal
Author: Amy Plum
Publisher: HarperTeen
Release Date: May 10, 2011
Book: Netgalley

"My life had always been blissfully, wonderfully normal. But it only took one moment to change everything.

Suddenly, my sister, Georgia, and I were orphans. We put our lives into storage and moved to Paris to live with my grandparents. And I knew my shattered heart, my shattered life, would never feel normal again. Then I met Vincent.

Mysterious, sexy, and unnervingly charming, Vincent Delacroix appeared out of nowhere and swept me off my feet. Just like that, I was in danger of losing my heart all over again. But I was ready to let it happen.

Of course, nothing is ever that easy. Because Vincent is no normal human. He has a terrifying destiny, one that puts his life at risk every day. He also has enemies . . . immortal, murderous enemies who are determined to destroy him and all of his kind.

While I'm fighting to piece together the remnants of my life, can I risk putting my heart—as well as my life and my family's—in jeopardy for a chance at love?"

If anything I enjoy about love, it is the love that is a sacrifice. This book not only capture me by the heart but had me swooning the whole way through the book. As a reader, I also enjoy a dark, brooding man who's only thing in life is to find some sort of happiness.

First off, the love in this book is great. Beyond great! I love reading about Vincent's past and how he became who he is today. Everything he has done is for everyone else, so why can't he do something for himself? As a reader, I enjoy new plots lines but mostly new unique story ideas. I love the idea of a revenant. It is like the new vampire! I really enjoyed learning about them and they things that they do.

The storyline had me at the edge of my seat. I love the plot twists and turns in the book. I also like how the love between Vincent and Katie is unbreakable! I loved see them together and the way that they acted with each other. They had such a nice ease in each other. I just can't say this enough but when characters can have a love that feels real, you know that the writer has done a great job writing this book. Ms. Plum definitely brought her characters life right from the very first page.

Die for Me is a great debut! It had love, action, and enough of self sacrifice to make you cry. Ms. Plum wrote a beautiful story that I could not get enough of. I can't wait to read the next book!

 I give it 5 BITES!

Will Mercy be able to harness her true self and extraordinary power in time?

The first in a dazzling new series, Mercy masterfully weaves romance, mystery and the supernatural into a spell-binding tale."

I have only read on other book like this and I like it. I like the plot, the characters and most importantly how the story flows. A person or soul going from body to body, using them as a host until the find a new one. And in each body it's a different life, different place.

Mercy traveling from body to body just intrigues me so much! I just love to see how her encounters not only change her life but the life's of the ones she taken over temporarily.  I really enjoyed the plot. I thought that way it was written and told was perfect. I like how as the reader, we get clues to her past, but also what is happening right in front of your eyes. We see Mercy trying to piece together the disappearance of finding Ryan's sister.

The love interest is rather funny! At first Ryan was mean to Mercy. He told her off. But what I like was how well Mercy responded. She put him in his place real fast. I really enjoyed her giving it to him. It was funny because he never really expected her to act like that. I knew that they fall for each other eventually. It was just a matter of time.

Mercy is great, non-stop mystery. Filled with lots of anger and hurt, Mercy goes on a great adventure to search not only who she is, but who she is to become. This is an angel story like no other that you will definitely enjoy!

I give it 4 BITES!

Review: Angel Burn

Title: Angel Burn
Series: Angel Trilogy # 1
Genre: Young Adult- Supernatural
Author: L.A. Weatherly
Publisher: Candlewick Press
Release Date: May 24, 2011
Book:  Netgalley

"Willow knows she’s different from other girls, and not just because she loves tinkering with cars. Willow has a gift. She can look into the future and know people’s dreams and hopes, their sorrows and regrets, just by touching them. She has no idea where this power comes from. But the assassin, Alex, does. Gorgeous, mysterious Alex knows more about Willow than Willow herself. He knows that her powers link to dark and dangerous forces, and that he’s one of the few humans left who can fight them. When Alex finds himself falling in love with his sworn enemy, he discovers that nothing is as it seems, least of all good and evil. In the first book in an action-packed, romantic trilogy, L..A. Weatherly sends readers on a thrill-ride of a road trip — and depicts the human race at the brink of a future as catastrophic as it is deceptively beautiful."

As I read this book, I was little skeptical. Lately I have been reading lots of books about angels, demons and whatnot, that reading another angel story, well you have to really impress me in order for me to get into the book. So many books out there carry the same plots and the same types of characters. After reading a bit into the book, I was hooked. I realized that I enjoyed Willow and Alex. Both were dynamic characters and had love that I enjoyed seeing.

The plot I did enjoy reading once I got what's going on. It did take a while for the plot to take off but once it did I really love it. The were many secrets, betrayals, and lots of action going on. What really got me was how blind Willow was to all of this. Her emotions I loved reading. Ms. Weatherly did a great job writing all the thoughts and feelings out.

The love in this story sweet. I am such a romance junkie! To see two people falling in love over a course of running away from danger, almost being killed, learning secrets, it really had my heart out there! I love watching how in the mist of things, these two people can come together and it was like no one or nothing can break what they have. They had a secret place in which they can go to within each other and be safe. Total swoon!

Overall this book is great! I really enjoyed reading it and exploring the world that Ms. Weatherly has created. Angel Burn is the start of new series that I can get addicted to! I can't wait to see what the next book has in store!
