Review: The Goddess Legacy

TItle: The Goddess Legacy
Series: Goddess Test # 2.5
Genre: Young Adult-Paranormal/Fantasy
Author: Aimee Carter
Publisher: HarlequinTeen
Release Date: July 31, 2012
Book: Netgalley

"For millennia we've caught only glimpses of the lives and loves of the gods and goddesses on Olympus. Now Aime e Carter pulls back the curtain on how they became the powerful, petty, loving and dangerous immortals that Kate Winters knows.

Calliope/Hera represented constancy and yet had a husband who never matched her faithfulness....

Ava/Aphrodite was the goddess of love and yet commitment was a totally different deal....

Persephone was urged to marry one man, yet longed for another....

James/Hermes loved to make trouble for others-but never knew true loss before....

Henry/Hades's solitary existence had grown too wearisome to continue. But meeting Kate Winters gave him a new hope....

Five original novellas of love, loss and longing and the will to survive throughout the ages."
For me, this book stir up so many emotions. Aimee Carter did a fantastic job of re-taling the greek gods story. Each story's, paints a fantastic picture of what their lifes are like. From lies to betrayal, the reader can't help but be consume by it all.

The Goddess Legacy contained several different stories from Hera, Henry, Aphrodite, and Hepatahus point of view. Let me first say that with each back round history to the character, Ms. Carter gives the reader an amazing insight as to who they are today. I like that with each story, we get the raw character. The reader is placed in their shoes and BAM! You feel it all. The love, lust, pride, lies, and betrayal. The reader see the years of life drained right out of them. Seriously, when I was done with Hera's story, I could do nothing but shake my head in awe. How Ms. Carter painted such a magnificent story is beyond me. But damn....it's good.

With all of these stories painting wonderful images in my head, I had to go back to The Goddess Test and put my imagination to work. I felt as through Ms. Carter gave me the key to some insight I had not see before and I am yearning just to open that door. I suggest that if you have not read The Goddess Test or Goddess Interrupted, you should do so immediately. Like right now. Drop what you are doing and read both books. Then read The Goddess Legacy, come back to me and then we can talk. I can tell you this much, the facade that they are putting on is about to come off....and soon.

The Goddess Legacy are triumphant tales that leave the reader burning. Burning from the emotions, from the adrenaline rush of fast paced stories that open the door to a whole new world. The strong representation of the Gods and Goddess brings forth amazing world building that the reader will not want to leave. Gripping and intense, The Goddess Legacy is sensational!

I give it 5 BITES!

"A vacation in Greece sounds like the perfect way for Kate Winters to spend her first sabbatical away from the Underworld...until she gets caught up in an immortal feud going back millennia. Castor and Pollux have been on the run from Zeus and Hades's wrath for centuries, hiding from the gods who hunt them. The last person they trust is Kate, the new Queen of the Underworld. Nevertheless, she is determined to help their cause. But when it comes to dealing with immortals, Kate still has a lot to learn...."
As soon as this book was available, I was on my computer ready to buy NOW!!!!!

I really love this short story. It gave a better insight on Henry and the other characters in the book. I was particular interested in Henry, since he has manged to snagged my heart. I love reading his point of view and seeing the way he views Kate. Let me tell you that his love for her is enduring. I smiled at his view of Kate and how he admired her.

I liked that the reader got better view of God's politics that is going on. It helped me with other questions as to what the Gods are fighting over.

Before I give to much away this book is a great filler to the series. You get Henry's pov, lots of politics, and much more of Kate's fierceness. If you love the Goddess Test novels, read this book!!

The Goddess Hunt fulfills the reader in every way possible. For those who want more of Henry, you will get him! The Goddess Hunt leaves the reader wanting more!

I give it 5 BITES!

Then, in the midst of Kate’s coronation, Henry is abducted by the only being powerful enough to kill him: the King of the Titans.

As the other gods prepare for a war that could end them all, it is up to Kate to save Henry from the depths of Tartarus. But in order to navigate the endless caverns of the Underworld, Kate must enlist the help of the one person who is the greatest threat to her future."

Give me a second while I picked up my mouth from the floor. Yup, you guess it. This book is jaw dropping. Let me tell you this. It has only been a few days since I read this book and STILL I can not get it out of my mind. I'm driving in the car and BAM, I'm thinking about Henry and Kate. So good!

Why did I love this book so much? The plot. The plot is written so well that you can do nothing but fall into it. I loved being a part of this world while reading it. To learn more about Kate, her life, her feelings. It's amazing how well Ms. Carter makes you feel as if you are the character in the book.

The characters in this book are amazing. So much growth, learning, and experience in the characters is amazing to see. I really enjoyed seeing and feeling all the emotions of the characters. That's is another thing that got my hooked. The FEELINGS! OMG! I was happy, then sad, then distraught, then raging mad, then sad again, I mean...WOW! Amazing feelings and so much character in the character.

That is all I am going to say before I ruin it for everyone. So without further ado, here is the bottom line:

READ IT!

Goddess Interrupted is a monumental tale of Gods, love and power. The raw majesty of writing alone makes this book unstoppable. The unrelenting plot is instantly unforgettable and undeniable. The short-lived thrill of the book is not enough for me. I.WANT. MORE.
A beautiful delight, Goddess Interrupted is an mythological epic that I can read over and over again!

I give it 5 BITES!

Kate is sure he's crazy--until she sees him bring a girl back from the dead. Now saving her mother seems crazily possible. If she succeeds, she'll become Henry's future bride, and a goddess.

If she fails..."

I loved this book! The way it was told with Greek mythology had me intrigued and hooked all at the same time. In fact, as soon as I started the book, I refused to put it down. Ms. Carter's world that she has written is to die for!!

Alright I admit it. I am all for dark, cute, boys who need the guidance of a innocence girl to help them be who they are. I fell in love with Henry as soon as I met him. He was not at all what they said he was but something more. Kate is amazing character who brought out the best in him. She gave him hope and strength where he could not find it. She brought light and happiness to his life and made him smile. Their relationship is one I liked watching because you saw both of them let down their guards and be with each other. The love that Ms. Carter written will last me a lifetime.

The plot intertwined with Greek mythology is super awesome! I always loved learning about Greek mythology in school, so books with this stuff in it makes me giddy. The way Ms. Carter describe all the gods with a modern theme was good. I enjoyed learning about the gods and goddesses. I especially enjoyed learning more about Henry and his past. As a reader, you watch all the pieces of Henry's story come together, you are drawn into his life and see things through his eyes. Ms. Carter did a great job describing his world, his feelings, his every being. I even liked seeing him angry. The fire in his eyes is simply fantastic!

If you want to read a great Greek mythology story with a hurt, dark man, read this book. I can guarantee that once you start this book, you will not want to finish it.

There was sex (not fully describe just enough to know what happen) and some cursing.

I give it 5 BITES!
